Bifurcation Control for a Ship Maneuvering Model with Nonsmooth Nonlinearities

چکیده

We consider a widely used form of models for ship maneuvering, whose nonlinearities entail continuous but nonsmooth second-order modulus terms. For such bifurcations straight motion are not amenable to standard center manifold reduction and normal forms. Based on recently developed analytical approach, we nevertheless determine the character local when stabilizing course with proportional control. specific model class perform detailed analysis linearization location these in control parameter space its dependence selected design parameters. By computing analytically derived characteristic parameters, find that “safe” supercritical Andronov–Hopf typical. Through numerical continuation provide more global bifurcation analysis, which identifies arrangement relative stable unstable equilibria periodic orbits.

Adaptive maneuvering, with experiments, for a model ship in a marine control laboratory

The maneuvering problem involves two tasks. The first, called the geometric task, is to force the system output to converge to a desired path continuously parametrized by a scalar θ. The second task, called the dynamic task, is to satisfy a desired dynamic behavior along the path. In this paper, this dynamic behavior is further specified as a speed assignment for θ(t). While the main concern is...

A Nonlinear Unified State-Space Model for Ship Maneuvering and Control in a Seaway

This article presents a unified state-space model for ship maneuvering, station-keeping, and control in a seaway. The frequency-dependent potential and viscous damping terms, which in classic theory results in a convolution integral not suited for real-time simulation, is compactly represented by using a state-space formulation. The separation of the vessel model into a low-frequency model (rep...

A Nonlinear Ship Manoeuvering Model: Identification and adaptive control with experiments for a model ship

Complete nonlinear dynamic manoeuvering models of ships, with numerical values, are hard to find in the literature. This paper presents a modeling, identification, and control design where the objective is to manoeuver a ship along desired paths at different velocities. Material from a variety of references have been used to describe the ship model, its difficulties, limitations, and possible s...

Effects of Ship Motion on Ship Maneuvering in Waves

Ship maneuvering performance is typically predicted in calm water conditions. This provides very valuable information at the initial ship design stage. However, since the ship always sails in waves, the maneuvering performance of the ship in seaway may be significantly different from calm water condition. Therefore, if the effect of waves and the corresponding motion responses can be included i...

HOPF BIFURCATION CONTROL WITH PD CONTROLLER

In this paper, we investigate the problem of bifurcation control for a delayed logistic growth model. By choosing the timedelay as the bifurcation parameter, we present a Proportional - Derivative (PD) Controller to control Hopf bifurcation. We show that the onset of Hopf bifurcation can be delayed or advanced via a PD Controller by setting proper controlling parameter. Under consideration mode...
